Filter Design Tool > Wizard Step 3 SpecificationsIn the Specifications page of the design wizard, prototype order, corner frequencies, and impedances are set. You may enter these values by entering a value in the appropriate field. The acceptable range for the field in focus is displayed on the bottom left of the dialog box. You can enter field values with units. If you specify any unit information, the field will then use this information and it will convert the value using current unit settings. It will then be updated to display validated and re-formatted value. You may also use the vertical slider to change a field value. To do that, click on the field of interest, and scroll the slider up and down. The slider range is a limited portion of the acceptable value range and it usually encompasses a practical set of values. The slider steps are also adjusted to reflect “nice-looking” values, e.g., to avoid fractional impedance values like 64.25 ohms. If auto analyze is ON, each time you change a field, a new design and analysis will be performed and the plot will be updated. Playing with the slider resembles an animated tuning; however a full design procedure is being performed in the background!
