           Selecting a Global Port Name

Selecting a Global Port Name

In a Nexxim design , a global node created from the Draw pulldown is listed in a .GLOBAL statement in the generated netlist with a default node name G_n, where n is an integer. See Global Nodes in Subcircuits for details. A global port can also be defined in Nexxim by naming a ground port to a node name other than zero (0).

1. On the Schematic Editor toolbar, click the Ground icon.

2. Select the ground symbol. The properties of the ground port appear in the Properties window. (Alternatively, double-click on the symbol to open the Properties dialog box for the ground port.)

3. To change a ground port into a global port, or to rename a global port that has a default node name, double-click on the Value field for the PortName parameter to open the Global Port Name dialog box:

4. Enter the desired name for the global node and click OK.

In a Nexxim design, the named global node is listed in a .GLOBAL statement in the generated netlist. See Global Nodes in Subcircuits for details.

Note

When you wire two differently-named global nodes together, a .CONNECT statement is added to the netlist. See CONNECT Statement for details.
