Simple Channel Example

Simple Channel Example

In this example you run Nexxim VerifEye and QuickEye analyses of a piece of a communications channel, a differential transmission line with termination. The expected bit error rate is low, and so a full Transient analysis would require a correspondingly large number of bits. VerifEye estimates the bit error rates based on the statistical parameters of the channel. QuickEye calculates the impulse response for the channel and applies the waveform to a smaller bit pattern to generate an eye diagram.

As you work through this topic, you will learn how to:

• Open the example circuit from the Examples directory.

• Alternatively, create the simple channel circuit using the Schematic editor.

• Set up and run VerifEye and QuickEye analyses.

• Create reports for the results.

You have two ways to access the schematic for this example:

• Open the project file from the Examples directory with the File Open dialog.

• Create the schematic with the Schematic Editor.

Once the schematic has been set up, you can set up and run the simulations and display the results.
