Getting Started with Ansoft Designer > EM DesignDesigner offers two EM Design simulators: an HFSS simulator and a Planar electromagnetic simulator. EM Design simulators are the ideal tools for projects that involve full-wave or radiative effects for multi-layered structures. You can use Designer to draw the physical layout of a patch antenna or a millimeter-wave integrated circuit and then simulate the electromagnetic properties to display: Radiated electric fields Basic electromagnetic field quantities Characteristic port impedances and propagation constants Basic far-field parameters for electromagnetic fields and antennas Generalized S-parameters, and S-parameters renormalized to specific port impedances For more information see HFSS and Planar EM Simulators.
