Swapping Elements

Elements can be swapped (interchanged). For example, when a shunt LC-resonator element is split, the inductor stays on the left while the capacitor is placed on the right. You can swap them so that the inductor stays on the right of the capacitor.

To swap elements:

1. Select two elements (they do not have to be adjacent).

2. Click Swap on the Filter>Element submenu.

Since you can swap any two elements regardless of their positions, this operation may result in distortions in the response. Therefore you should swap elements wisely. Swapping two adjacent simple shunt or series elements would not distort the response, however swapping non-adjacent elements, or one series and one shunt element, or swapping an element with a transformer will sure change the response significantly.
