Filter Design Tool > Making ModificationsFilter design wizard creates and designs filters using the best possible approach within its ability. Most of the time, these prescribed methods yield practical and realizable circuits. In some cases, however, circuit may have unrealizable elements or elements with extreme values. It may also contain an impractical structure which you can change by applying network transformations such as Kuroda, Norton etc. To overcome these impracticalities, you can use modifications in the design window. Filter Design Tool makes a wide range of modifications available and applicable. You can modify individual circuit elements, the whole circuit or apply a network transformation to a section of the circuit. Modifications are classified into three groups: • Simple element modifications • Circuit modifications • Network transformations To apply a modification, you should select a set of elements by using mouse and click the required menu item. The range and type of elements to be selected are explained in the modification groups. Some modifications do not require any element selection. Modifications are described in their corresponding subjects. You can also find modification examples right in the program itself. Click Transformation Settings on the Filter>Transform submenu and the pop-up dialog will list all possible cases of transformations.
