Rotating Elements

Elements can be rotated to be either in series or shunt configuration. This is different than conventional 90-180-270 degree rotations. For example, select an inductor connected in series with the circuit. Rotating it will end up in a shunt connection, rotating again will wind back to the original series connection.

Not all the elements can be rotated. Inductors, capacitors, resistors, distributed stubs and their combinations can be rotated to be in series or shunt. On the other hand, transmission lines, inverters, transformers, coupled lines cannot be rotated since they do not have series and shunt configurations at the same time.

To rotate elements:

1. Select one or more elements

2. Click Rotate on the Filter>Element submenu.

Note

To rotate without re-wiring (i.e., “rubberbanding”), hold down the <Shift> key as you rotate the element(s).
