Quality Factors

Quality factors, or Q factors for short, are defined for determining lossy behaviors of elements. Practical, real-life filters exhibit deviations from ideal responses because of imperfect conductors, high-frequency skin effects and parasitics. Most of these effects can be modeled with the Q factor.
