Making a Coupled Line

Most of the time, transmission lines and distributed stub element sections are used to obtain multiple coupled line (MCPL) sections. In some cases, however, you may want to convert them into individual parallel coupled lines. 3 common conversion examples are shown below:

Coupled line equivalents are exact-equivalent circuits. Therefore no response information is lost in this operation.

To replace a circuit section with an equivalent parallel coupled line:

1. Select a section of elements. Note that element lengths should be equal.

2. Click Make Coupled Line on the Filter>Transform submenu.
