Distributed to Lumped

You can replace a distributed stub element with a lumped element such as an inductor or a capacitor. The replacement will be made by approximating the response of the lumped and distributed sections around a given frequency. The frequency (fo) is obtained from filter specifications. However you can change this setting in the Transformation Settings dialog box.

This transformation is not an exact-equivalent operation. The filter response is optimized at fo, but it will be distorted for other frequencies.

 

To replace a distributed element with a lumped element:

1. Select a distributed element such as short circuited stub or a transmission line

2. Click Distributed to Lumped on the Filter>Transform submenu. If the frequency fo is not suitable for the operation, you will be asked to enter another value for the frequency of application.
