PIC 2D Monitor Plot

2D/3D Plot: Plot Properties...Properties

This dialog box offers the possibility to define settings regarding the visualization of particle PIC 2D monitors. To open this dialog box the PIC 2D Monitor result has to be selected: Navigation Tree: 2D/3D ResultsParticle 2D Monitor<monitor name>.

Display Type

The following particle properties can be selected for coloring the markers:

Velocity: colors the markers with respect to the particle velocity:

Beta: colors the markers with respect to the beta value (velocity relative to speed of light) of the particles.

Gamma: Colors the markers with respect to the Lorentz factor (relativistic factor) of the particles.

Normed momentum: colors the markers with respect to the particle kinetic energy.

Energy: colors the markers with respect to the particle kinetic energy.

Charge: colors the markers with respect to the particles macro charge.

q, [q] = C

Show absolute values

For some display types it is convenient to show only the absolute values (e.g. charged particles with different signs (electron/positron)).

Particle Source

Allows to show only particles which were emitted from a particular source.

Time scale

The time scale slider control offers the possibility to plot the markers at one defined time step.

Close

Closes the dialog box.

Color Ramp...

Choose a different coloring model  for the trajectory data.

Specials...

Opens the PIC Monitor Plot Specials dialog box for further settings.

Export Bitmap

Exports a bitmap of the current PIC 2D monitor plot to the directory:

 "<example dir> \ Result \ PIC Monitors \ 2D \ <monitorname> \ imageXXXX.bmp".

The bitmaps can be used to generate movies for demonstration purposes.

Help

Shows this help text.

Animate

Animates the particle position plot to visualize the dynamic behaviour of the particles. During the animation parameters of the plot can not be changed.

The animation can be stopped by pressing the Stop button.

Stop

In case an animation is running this button is used to stop the movie.

Export Movie

By activating this button one can start an animation where each frame is exported to the bitmap directory.

Note: During the animation the application must not be minimized, also dialogs should not be moved in front of the display window.
