In this dialog, the dependency of the relative permittivity , relative permeability and electric conductivity on temperature can be defined. For example, an approximate temperature dependency of electric conductivity of copper is depicted in the following plot:

Besides, the specific temperature field can be selected to be used with this material. Temperature dependent materials are currently supported by HF Time Domain Solver and Stationary Current Solver. Please note that the former solver currently supports only temperature distributions defined on the hexahedral mesh, whereas the latter can handle both tetrahedral and hexahedral based distributions.

Temperature field

In this combobox, the temperature distribution to be used with the current material can be selected. The following possibilities are provided:

Automatic: select this item in order to utilize the default temperature distribution (e.g. the first in the list of imported fields).

Import field...: import a new temperature distribution and use it with the current material.

Otherwise, select an already imported temperature field.

Temperature dependency

In this group, the dependencies of the relative permittivity , relative permeability and electric conductivity on temperature can be defined. Select the specific parameter in the Parameter combobox and define the corresponding dependency curve. If the temperature dependency for any parameter is not defined, the default constant value is utilized.
