Setting the Analysis Temperature

To set the temperature used in the analysis of a design:

1. Select the design for which you want to set the temperature.

2. Do either of the following:

• On the Product menu, point to Add Reference Data, and then click Set Temperature.

• Right-click the design’s Data icon in the project window, and then click Set Temperature.

The Temperature dialog box opens.

3. Type the desired temperature in the Value box, and then click OK.

 

Notes

1. When you click OK, your specification is recorded in a Temperature object beneath the design’s Data icon. For subsequent adjustments to this design’s analysis temperature, you must double-click that Temperature object, because explicitly setting the analysis temperature for a design deactivates the Set Temperature option on the design’s Data shortcut menu.

2. You can specify a name other than Temperature for a Temperature object. To do this, type the desired name in the Block Name box in the Set Temperature dialog. You can also rename a Temperature object by right-clicking its icon and selecting Rename.

3. A temperature object for a design sets the temperature only for analyses run from that hierarchical level. If the design is a subcircuit in a hierarchy, a higher-level analysis that includes that subcircuit will use the analysis temperature in effect for that level rather than the temperature set for direct analysis of the subcircuit.
