Setting up a Statistical Analysis

(System, Nexxim and Planar EM)

Following is the general procedure for setting up a statistical analysis.

 

Note

Statistical analysis requires an AC source. Attempting to simulate a Linear Network Analysis without an AC source may cause the simulation to fail, producing the error message: “Statistical Analysis failed — StatisticalSetup1”.

 

1. Before a variable can be included in a statistical analysis, you must specify that you intend for it to be used during a statistical analysis in the Properties dialog box.

2. On the Product menu, point to Optimetrics Analysis, and then click Add Statistical.

The Setup Statistical Analysis dialog box appears.

3. Under the Calculations tab, type the maximum number of iterations that you want Designer to perform in the Maximum Iterations text box.

4. Specify a solution quantity to evaluate.

5. In the Calc. Range text box, set the value at which the solution quantity will be computed.

6. Optionally, modify the distribution criteria that will be used.

 

A number of optional statistical solution setup options are available to be configured, if desired.
