View the Mesh and Set Dynamic Mesh Updates

You can view the layout of the design in a planar or 3D view. On the EM Design menu, click Layout Editor to view the planar view of the design.

In the Layout Editor, you can view the mesh in either of two ways.

• Click to select the setup you added. Then, on the EM Design menu, point to Solution Setup and then click Mesh Overlay. This option draws a 3D mesh in the Layout editor. The mesh honors layer visibility; a layer that is not visible will not have a mesh. If there are self-intersecting mesh edges, these are highlighted in bold yellow.

• In the Project Manager, expand the Analysis folder by clicking the + sign next to its icon, then right-click the setup you added, and select Mesh Overlay. This option draws a 3D mesh in the Layout 3D viewer. The mesh honors layer visibility; a layer that is not visible will not have a mesh. If there are self-intersecting mesh edges, these will be highlighted in bold yellow.

Next, you can set up the analysis for Dynamic Mesh Updates in either of two ways:

• On the EM Design menu, point to Solution Setup, and then click Dynamic Mesh Updates.

• In the Project Manager, expand the Analysis folder (by clicking the + sign next to its icon), right-click Setup1, and then click Dynamic Mesh Updates.
