System Design

Designer’s System Simulator is a frequency domain and discrete-time domain simulator. The system simulator is capable of addressing a variety of complex DSP, RF, and microwave wireless designs and applications. The tutorial introduced in this section will help you get started with the System Simulator and become familiar with many of its basic features.

The example presented in this section is a double-down-conversion communications receiver. This section shows you how to build the schematic, set up frequency domain and discrete time domain analyses, and create reports to display the results. As you work through this sequence of System Simulator design topics, you will:

• Start Designer and explore the system tool and schematic editor

• Use the System design toolbars

• Learn terms and concepts essential to system simulation

• Create a report to display the simulation results
