Place the Filters

Start by placing three filters in the design.

1. Click the Components tab in the Project Manager, and then expand the System Elements/Filters folder and the Chebyshev icon.

2. Select CBPF: Chebyshev Band-Pass Filter, and then right-click Place Component.

3. Now move the cursor into the Schematic Editor window, and note that the cursor changes into the filter’s schematic symbol.

4. Move the symbol near the left side of the screen, then left-click to place the component. Alternately, a component can be dragged from the component tree and placed directly on the schematic by holding and then releasing the left mouse button.

5. Place two additional Chebyshev Band-Pass filters. Left-click to place the second component and then right-click and select Place and Finish to add the third component so that your schematic now looks similar to the following:

To make multiple placements of a component, you can use any of the following shortcut techniques:

• Move the cursor into the Schematic Editor (same as before) and left-click to place as many copies of a component as is needed. After you position the final component, right-click and select Finish.

• To copy-and-paste an existing component in the Schematic Editor, select the symbol symbol (one left-click) and then on the main menu bar click Edit and Copy, and then Edit and Paste. Drag the cursor to the Schematic Editor, position the component, and then right-click Place and Finish.

— Alternately, you can copy-and-paste by selecting the component and then applying the standard Windows shortcut keys (Ctrl+c and Ctrl+v).

— Another way to copy and paste is to hold Ctrl+Left-Click as you drag a copy of an existing component to a new location.

— You can also cut and paste by right-clicking to open the Schematic Editor pop-up menu:
