Filter Design Tool > Quality Factors Dialog BoxFilter Design Tool assigns each element a set of Q factors for inductances, capacitances and attenuation constant transmission lines. Attenuation constants are also referred to as Q factors for brevity. Not all the Q factors apply to all the elements. However, most of the time the Q factors are copied from an existing element to new ones when transformations are performed. So it is convenient to carry them around and when a Q factor does not apply, it is simply ignored. This dialog can be accessed from several places and each usage has different functionalities:
To specify the Q factors of elements in the design wizard: 1. Bring up the dialog box by clicking Q factors in the Properties page of the design wizard. 2. In the dialog box, select the type of the Q factor in the list in the Properties group. 3. Select the Q-type from one of the options in the Properties group [if it applies] 4. Enter the Q, attenuation and reference frequency value(s) in the boxes. 5. Click OK.
To specify the Q factors of an element in the design window: 1. Bring up the dialog box by clicking Q factors on the Designer top-bar Filter menu, Element submenu. You may also bring up the same dialog box from the clicking Set Q factors in Element Properties dialog box. 2. Follow the same routine as if it is called from the design wizard. 3. By default, Q factor settings apply to one element. Click Apply to all elements in the circuit to apply the same Q factors to all existing elements in the circuit. This check box is hidden and cannot be used if the dialog box is called from inside the Element Properties dialog box. 4. Click OK.
Lossy Impedance/Admittance Values for Quick Reference For convenience, lossy impedance/admittance information can be calculated in the Quality Factors dialog box. The test group box on the right of the dialog box is for reference purposes and has nothing to do with the filter specifications. Given are the impedance, admittance in complex number formats and the magnitude of the impedance.
To calculate lossy element information: 1. In the Quality Factors dialog box, select the type of the element in the top list. 2. Enter required fields for the element below this list. 3. Click Calculate Z. HFSS视频教程 ADS视频教程 CST视频教程 Ansoft Designer 中文教程 |
