The Gaussian emission parameters for a charged particle beam can be specified within this dialog box.

Kinetic settings

In this section, the kinetic emission settings can be entered. For further details open the Kinetic Particle Settings page.

Gaussian pulse settings

In this section, the Gaussian pulse settings can be entered. Have also a look at the picture below.

Charge
Select the total charge per bunch. The charge has to have the same sign as the particle charge.

Bunch
The number of bunches can be entered here.

Time/Length
If time is chosen, the following emission parameters have temporal character. Otherwise they have spatial character.

Sigma
Specify the inflection point for the first pulse.

Cutoff
The width of the pulse can be entered here.

Offset
Select the offset between the field calculation and the particle emission.

Bunch distance
The bunch distance has to be at least 2*cutoff.
