One or more selected solids (and components) can be copied into the Windows clipboard by selecting the Copy operation from the Edit menu. The corresponding material properties are also kept alongside with the geometry information. The origin for the exported objects will be taken from the currently active coordinate system (either global or local).
Once solids are stored in the clipboard, selecting the operation Paste from the Edit menu will add the corresponding solids to the current model. Potential naming conflicts are resolved by adding e.g. _1 to the newly created solids or materials. The objects will be placed into the currently active coordinate system. This allows changing both, orientation and location of the pasted solids as compared to their original positioning.
There is also the possibility to define a target component in which the copied solids and/or components should be copied into. Therefore a component must be selected before performing Paste.
With the paste operation you have the possibility to align your model in the current project. The positioning algorithm also transforms your model such that the middle points of the picked faces are at the same position.
Please note: The copy / paste operation works within the same model and across different models.
