Low Frequency Solvers

LF Frequency Domain Solver (time-harmonic)

LF Frequency Domain Solver (MQS)

  • Useful for time-harmonic problems if the electric displacement currents can be neglected (Magnetoquasistatics)

  • Typical applications: transformers, switch gears, bus bars, sensors

  • Output: electromagnetic fields, current density, losses & energies, induced voltages, impedance, forces

LF Frequency Domain Solver (EQS)

  • Useful for electroquasistatic problems, i.e. the magnetic flux is neglected in Faraday's law of induction leading to a scalar problem

  • Typical applications: high voltage insulators, switch gears

  • Output: potential, electric & displacement fields, current density, losses & energies, forces

LF Frequency Domain Solver (Fullwave)

  • Useful for time-harmonic electromagnetic problems if a full coupling between electric & magnetic field energies is necessary

  • Typical applications: RFID coils, resonating structures

  • Output: electromagnetic fields, current density, losses & energies, impedance, induced voltages

LF Time Domain Solver (general time dependence)

LF Time Domain Solver (MQS)

  • Useful for general time-dependent magnetoquasistatic problems if the electric displacement currents can be neglected (Magnetoquasistatics)

  • Typical applications: transient device switching, nonlinear time-dependent problems such as motors, sensors, transformers

  • Output: magnetic field & flux densities, current density, losses & energies, induced voltages
