An IBIS buffer specification may ether be defined by selecting a component pin or by selecting an IBIS model. A component pin is always connected to a IBIS model. Therefore, selecting a pin automatically means selecting an IBIS model as well.
Pin name
Allows to specify a component pin. If no pin is selected, '-' is shown.
The name of the selected Pin will also be shown at the port of the corresponding schematic block.
If differential pin pairs are available, the drop down list box will show 'Diff: Pin1 -> Pin2' where 'Pin1' and 'Pin2' are the Pin names. In this case the schematic icon will have two instead of one input/output ports.
Model Name
Allows to specify the IBIS model. When changing the IBIS model, any pin selection is reset.
Component Name
The currently selected component name is shown and can be changed here.
Buffer type
The buffer type of the currently selected IBIS model is shown here.
Edit...
Reads the IBIS file and allows to change the currently active buffer specification through the settings in the 'Buffer definition' frame.
Data type
Allows to change the currently active data set. You may choose between 'Typical', 'Best', 'Worst'. The 'Data type' can be changed without reading the IBIS file first (e.g. pressing the Edit... button).
