The mobile communication technologies and internet technologies are changing the world. What is the future of communication industry? The speech will address the opportunities and challenges in the mobile communication industry, the converging trends between mobile communication and Internet industry, the successful business cases and the outlook of the future communication world. The speech will also highlight the present and future efforts of China Mobile Communication Corporation, the R&D focus of China Mobile Research Institute, and its development strategies, research directions and human resource strategies. Finally, the speaker will allocate time to interact with the students on the subjects of their interests.
黄院长简介：
     Huang Xiaoqing has become GM of China Mobile Research Institute since January,2007. Previously, he was Senior Vice President and CTO of UTStarcom,Inc. He has in-depth experience in the areas of next generation mobile switching system, IP media streaming, GEPON system, Multi-serviceSoftswitch, and Operation Support System, as well as Value Added Services.
He has been a new technology advocate for Telecom industry. He developed the first V5 Access Network product; the first IP DSLAM system and the first commercial GEPON system in the world. He envisioned the potential of using PHS for wireless access for PSTN and help created the PAS market in China. He envisioned the potential of IP based Softswitch and co-founded the International Softswitch Consortium. He also envisioned the emergence of media streaming as a new telecom switching service and developed the first Softswitch-based end-end commercial IPTV system in the world.
     He holds and has applied for more than 12 US and International patents. He has over 21 years of experience in the development of key communication technologies.
