收到一个让我做reviewer的邀请

一些associate editor找reviewer遵循的原则是，在三个reviewer里至少找一个在读的PhD//postdoc或者发过paper的MS学生，因为这个学生reviewer一般审稿会比较细，该推导的地方都会跟着作者的步骤推下去。而那些已经是prof.的reviewer，可能只是凭经验来看看思路有没有问题，曲线是不是好看也就过去了，而不太容易纠缠于细节。
所以你跟着推推，然后看看参考文献里的文章，大概了解一些文章的思路。如果可能的话，自己再提出一些问题就可以了。

就怕editor会不会觉得给的审稿意见比较水平低，呵呵

呵呵，我刚开始的时候也有这样的疑虑，所以那时候直接写信跟associate editor说了自己的想法，这是当时的通信。
Dear Prof. Associate Editor,
Thank you for your attention to my research job. I will be very glad to review this paper. But I am only a Ph.D student now and have never reviewed a journal paper, though I used to serve for some conferences. I am not sure whether I am enough to serve as a reviewer for the IEEE Signal Processing Letters.
If you feel that will be okay, it will be my great honor to have this opportunity to work for the journal, and I will be very glad to accept it.

Thanks for your response. Don't worry about whether being "only" a PhD is enough for revieweing journal papers. In fact, as an associate Editor I usually try to invite a PhD student or other young researcher in addition to senior people since their evaluation often is less influenced by the mere name and reputation of the authors and they often are attentive to details senior people tend to overlook. 呵呵，你当时也太过于客气了
其实editor找reviewer，就好比在街上贴广告找小工的。活儿来了，只担心
找不到足够的劳力……
另外，editor找学生审稿，其实也是好坏参半。好处是学生往往比较认真，
特别是，会比较快的回复；坏处是，有时候碰到特别较真儿的，也挺头大，呵呵
btw：这个editor态度还不错

对啊，直接审就行了，每年每个杂志几千篇投稿呢。每篇都刚好找合适的reviewer的话AE不就累死了。

是啊，感觉这个编辑很nice ：）
