Description
In this position, you will be responsible for help develop WiMAX wireless architecture, carry out specific research projects in WiMAX, and assist the research team on advanced mobile wireless broadband systems, and implementing research pilot solutions.
Qualifications
You must be a Ph.D. student, majoring in communication engineering with more than two years in wireless systems research or engineering. Additional qualifications include:
" Ability to work as an intern at least four days per week (weekend not included) for 18 months
" Good team work, motivation and English communication skills
" Practical experience in design and/or analysis of wireless systems and a good knowledge of state-of-the-art wireless technologies and standards
" Understanding of key radio access technologies such as Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM), Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA*), and key Medium Access Control (MAC) methods applicable to the design of mobile cellular broadband networks
" Solid understanding of mesh networking technology
" Knowledge of IMS* architecture and protocols
" Deep understanding of cellular network architecture and protocols
" Demonstrated skills in wireless communications simulation tools and experienced in link level or system level simulation
" Familiarity with 802.16 (WiMAX) and 802.11 (WiFi) standards
Business Group
Intel's Information Services and Technology Group (ISTG) designs, deploys and supports the information technology architecture and hardware/software applications for Intel. This includes the LAN, WAN, telephony, data centers, client PCs, Backup and Restore, and Enterprise Applications. ISTG is also responsible for e-Commerce development, data hosting and delivery of Web content and services. IT Research group with ISTG performs next generation research on future IT technologies including wireless, networking, server and/or client based solutions.
