Advanced Ultra-wideband (UWB) devices for wireless communications and radar
Applications are invited for a three-year Post Doctoral Research Associate post to work on an EPSRC funded project on developing Advanced Ultra-wideband (UWB) devices for wireless communications and radar. In particular, the project will deploy liquid crystal polymer (LCP) that has recently emerged as a new microwave substrate and package material. The proposed research will investigate new design philosophies. Innovative UWB filtering structures that exploit multilayer capability of LCP will be implemented in the light of enabling manufacturing technologies such as laser machining. The reconfigurable UWB filtering sub-system integrating both active and passive components in a single LCP package will be developed.
The post is for 3 years with a starting date before 30 June 2007 and a starting salary up to £22,289. Potential candidates should have a PhD in microwave engineering with experience in multilayer circuit designing and testing. Ideally, the person to be appointed should have a good track record on research and publications, be self-motivated with strong research abilities to generate new ideas and high quality publications.
