Hardware Platform Development Manager
Location: Shanghai,China
Reporting to: Hardware Engineering Manager.
This role is critical to our growing business to ensure we achieve our product roadmap.
The position involves the management of a remote hardware platform development team, based in China in collaboration with the core hardware platform development team in the UK. The team in China will initially work on platforms originally designed in the UK and in doing so will increase the resources and capability available to the core team. As the team grows in experience and expertise it is expected that it will develop new platforms based on the Nvidia chipset for particular applications and markets which are not being developed in the UK.
The team will be primarily focussed on radio frequency development and as such the Development Manager must have in-depth expertise and experience in developing radio frequency solutions for the cellular market.
The Development Manager will coordinate the activities of the local RF , Baseband, Test, Software and PCB design engineers, although line management of some of the team, for example software, will be performed by others.
The Development Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the team, including detailed specification, design and test of reference multi-mode GSM/WCDMA/HSPA/LTE radio module designs for cellular terminals. The radios will be tested and integrated with NVIDIA Baseband and Protocol stack to ensure full conformity with approvals requirements.
The team leader will develop project plans and report progress and status regularly to the Hardware Engineering Project Manager.

Education/Qualifications required:
o Degree in a relevant discipline such as Electronic Engineering.

Ideal Experience:
o ~ 10 years working in the core development team of cellular modem products
o > 3 years’ experience in hardware team management
Technical Skills & Abilities required:
o Experience of developing market leading RF solutions for multimode cellular terminals
o Use of Project Planning tools such as Microsoft Project
o RF PCB design and verification experience
o Transmit & Receive performance analysis
o Knowledge of GSM/WCDMA/HSPA/LTE RF system requirements
o Knowledge of RF system performance testing
o Analysis of performance test results
o Experience of RF integration and approvals
o RF system calibration and production
o Power Consumption optimisation
o Experience of mobile phone hardware development
o Customer support

RF Development Engineer

The position involves the detailed specification of reference multi mode GSM/WCDMA/HSPA radio module designs for cellular terminals and the specification of the RF to Baseband and Power management interfaces for NVIDIA platforms. The radios will need to be tested and integrated with NVIDIA Baseband and Protocol stack to ensure full conformity with approvals requirements

Test Development Engineer(RF Test)
Location: Shanghai, China
Reporting to: Hardware Development Team Manager
This role is critical to our growing business to ensure we achieve our product roadmap.
The position involves the testing of components and systems used in NVIDIA cellular modem LTE/3G/HSDPA/GSM/GPRS/EDGE platforms. This includes automation of radio frequency tests in order to validate and characterise the various devices making up the platforms. The role will involve closely working with development engineers to define test requirements, specifications, methodologies and instruments.
Key Responsibilities:
o Set up, running and maintenance of NVIDIA Radio test system
o Calibration & maintenance of instruments
o Organisation of test campaigns
o Reporting of Test Result statistics
o Test failure debug
o Test Development
Education/Qualifications required:
o Degree in a relevant discipline such as Electronic Engineering.
Ideal Experience:
o 4 years working in the Core development team of a Semiconductor company making cellular modem chipsets
Technical Skills & Abilities required:
o Experience of running analog and RF test sytems
o Experience in developing automated test procedure scripts
o Experience in GPIB and LAN based instrument programming
o Use of Agilent VEE, Labview or similar environments
o Experience of ‘C’ programming
o Use of Agilent, Rohde & Schwarz, Anritsu, Racal and similar equipment
o Experience of validating cellular RF and/or baseband systems
o Knowledge of GSM/WCDMA//HSPA/LTE system requirements
o Presentation and analysis of test result data & raising bugs for failures
o Working with development engineers to debug issues
o Good team working and communication skills
