Description

We are seeking several (Senior) Baseband HW Engineers in Nokia Mobile Phones Featurephone Product Development Beijing. You will be responsible for the technical investigation and development in relation to our S40 Products. You will work with some of the hottest mobile technologies on the market and join a highly motivated team to build great mobile phone products.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will comprise:
Responsibility for all baseband deliverables from the chipset to the mobile phone product programs
Baseband planning and aligning the deliveries
Providing various baseband part solution options during concept study
Owning one technical expertise area inside the team, i.e. coaching other team members in solving engineering problems, driving the sharing of technical lessons learnt and maintaining the design guidelines
Integrating components into sub-systems or systems and verifying the integrated entity in order to meet the type approval and Nokia mobile phones design requirements
Specifying the test plan, test cases and analyzing test results to ensure functionality and reliability of the product
Qualifications

The ideal candidate has strong experience in HW development and minimum a Bachelors degree in Electronic Engineering, telecommunication or other relevant field in Baseband areas (Masters Degree is preferred). We expect an ability to apply wide technical knowledge and soft skills in order to solve complex problems within the technology area and act as the key contributor of the Engine, product and sub-team. Furthermore we expect:

Typically 6-9 years relevant experience with focus on GSM/TD-SCDMA cellular Baseband design
Profound knowledge about one or more of the following areas: Mobile phone system ASICs, Memories, Camera, Camera interface, Displays, Display interface, Battery, SIM, ASIP, connectivity (e.g. WLAN,FM, GPS, BT, USB, uSD) and sensors
Hands-on experience in various BB measurement equipments
Pro-activeness, honesty and ability to co-work with colleagues
Good coaching skills to help other team members to solve engineering problems
Innovative thinking and drive to seek opportunities
Fluency in both written and spoken English
Experience in CMCC Technical Requirement, CMMB, and RFID SIM knowledge is an advantage
Strong fundamentals of high speed circuit design and the signal integrity theory is an advantage
Knowledge about simulation (e.g. signal integrity and sensor) is an advantage
