Remote Analysis > Scheduler RequirementsThe following installation, setup, and batch run requirements apply to the LSF Scheduler.
Installation and Setup Requirements When running batch jobs as LSF jobs, the Ansoft RSM Service is not used. • There is no need to install or configure the Ansoft RSM Service. • The LSF scheduler will be used to start remote COM engine processes. • The LSF Scheduler must be up and running and the LSF command line tools must be available in the context of the batch job. The Designer Desktop communicates with the Scheduler Proxy which in turn uses Scheduler commands. As a result, it is possible to add a proxy .dll to support new schedulers without changing the Designer Desktop. Consequently, the following dynamic link library files must be installed in the Ansoft/Designer5/schedulers directory: • lsf_scheduler.dll • win_scheduler.dll
When an Ansoft batch job runs in the context of the LSF Scheduler (-Distributed command line option) then no list of hosts are required to be specified on the command line. • The batch job will run as a DSO batch, and the hosts allocated to the job will be used as the DSO hosts. • DSO engines are started on all hosts assigned to the job. • The number of DSO engines run on each host depends on the number slots allocated on each host by the scheduler.
