Paste Objects In Place

Sometimes it is convenient to copy an object and paste it without an X,Y offset or displacement. For instance, when creating copies of parameterized objects, or when copying an object to the same location but in a different layer.

To duplicate an object without an X,Y offset or displacement:

1. Select the object(s) to be duplicated.

2. Choose Copy from the right-click menu or from the Edit pull-down menu.

3. Select the layer you want to draw upon from the Active Layer pull-down list on the Layout toolbar.

4. Choose Paste in Place from the right-click menu or from the Edit pull-down menu.

The object is pasted onto the active layer using the same X,Y coordinates from which it was copied.
