This dialog offers the possibility to define the dependencies of thermal conductivity and specific heat capacity on temperature. In the following plots, approximate curves for copper are shown, allowing to simulate the melting process in the transient thermal solver:

Temperature values must be specified in the currently selected units. Thermal conductivity and heat capacity values must always be positive. Beyond the specified temperature intervals, the corresponding material parameters are assumed to be constant.

Material parameter:

Selects the nonlinear material parameter being specified. It is possible to choose between Thermal conductivity and Heat capacity. The latter choice leads to an error message, if zero default value has been specified in the Material Parameters dialog.

OK

Accepts the input and closes the dialog. Please note that at least three data points must be defined for correct interpolation.

Preview

Displays a preview of user-defined and fitted curves for all the components of nonlinear thermal conductivity.

Cancel

Closes this dialog box without performing any further action.
