Frequency Domain Solver Overview - Resonant: Fast S-ParameterThe Resonant: Fast S-Parameter solver is of interest if full and broadband scattering parameter matrices are required. The system is transformed into frequency domain and a special model order reduction technique is used to reduce the system size. From the much smaller system matrix, the transfer function and the scattering parameter matrices are calculated. Please note that the Resonant solver is currently available for loss-free structures, small dielectric lossy structures, waveguide and discrete ports. In addition, electric and magnetic boundaries are supported. With tetrahedral mesh, also open and conducting wall boundaries are available, as well as lossy metal. Please also note that field monitors can be defined for the Resonant: Fast S-Parameter method only with the tetrahedral mesh selected. If field monitors are required for hexahedral grids, please use the Resonant: S-Parameter, fields or the General Purpose solver. The Resonant: S-Parameter, fields method is not required for the tetrahedral mesh since, as mentioned above, the Resonant: Fast S-Parameter method calculates field monitors as well.Areas of application
