Transients

Transients can be applied to output from the solver with a double exponential, gaussian, sinusoidal, pulse-train or tabular waveform. The waveform is chosen, and the parameters A, B,C and D are set in either the Command Window Settings dialog, or directly in the Build excitation dialogs. With respect to these parameters, the waveforms are;

•   Double Exponential:

•   Gaussian:

•   Gaussian Monocycle:

•   Gaussian Bicycle:

•   Sinusoid:

•   Damped Sinusoid:

•   Pulse-Train:

It is preferable to define the transients in CST MICROSTRIPES Tool Settings dialog, since the transient will then be applied during post processing and the parameters can then be changed without rerunning the solver. However it is necessary to apply the transients directly in Build if time animated Space Domain output is required, or if multiple transients are required in the same model.
