Connector Junction

Home: ComponentsConnector

Connector junctions are used to establish electrical connections between blocks and external ports with more than one connector.

Choose Home: ComponentsConnector or use the shortcut 'c' (for connector) in the schematic view, and select one or two existing connectors to add a connector junction. Connector junctions can also be automatically created while inserting a block (see Creating a Design for details).

Manual placement of connector junctions

Connector junctions are placed automatically in many cases. It is also possible to specify the exact position of a connector junction manually. The entry Fixed Position of the context menu of a connector junction shows how it was placed: The connector junction was placed manually if the entry is checked.

To specify a fixed position for a connector junction, simply drag it with the mouse to the desired position. To use the automatic placement again, uncheck the Fixed Position context menu entry, or include the junction in the selection and choose Home: ComponentsConnectorReroute Connectors. The connector junction cannot be placed automatically in the following cases:

The automatic positioning algorithm tries to place connector junctions in such a way, that the overall connector routing becomes optimal, i.e. it tries to reduce the number of connector crossings, the number of connector bends, etc.
