Dipole AntennaTransient Analysis Examples - Antennas
General Description
This example presents the farfield calculation of a single electric dipole, holding a length of lambda/2 (lambda = 10 mm). A discrete port is used to define an excitation, and the farfield is monitored.
Structure Generation
The electric dipole is modelled by help of a single very thin cylinder consisting of PEC material, its dimensions are given parametrically. To provide some space for the location of the excitation source a small gap is cut in the antenna afterwards. Taking advantage of the given symmetry of the structure, corresponding symmetry planes are considered.
Mesh Settings
Due to the structure's very small PEC elements it is necessary to refine the mesh in order to obtain results of sufficient accuracy. Therefore the number of mesh lines per wavelength is increased as well as the refinement factor at PEC edges. As a consequence the number of mesh nodes is increased.
Solver Setup
In order to enable a transient calculation a discrete port is defined as the excitation source, feeding the electric dipole. Before starting the simulation, a farfield monitor is set up.
Post Processing
The previously defined farfield monitor offers now the possibility to investigate the radiation characteristics of the given antenna model. The farfield results are listed in the navigation tree in the folder Farfields and can be visualized in different ways. Have a look at the example Dipole Antenna Array to see further post processing possibilities. HFSS视频教程 ADS视频教程 CST视频教程 Ansoft Designer 中文教程 |
