Corner ReflectorAsymptotic Solver Examples
General Description
This simple example illustrates how the asymptotic solver can be applied to calculate the bistatic RCS of a simple PEC corner reflector. The calculation uses a single incident plane wave from an angle of theta = 45 degrees and phi = 45 degrees.
Solver Setup
The solver is configured to consider up to three reflections of the rays which is important due to the structure of the corner reflector. The RCS is then calculated in two farfield planes (phi=45 degrees and phi=135 degrees) for varying theta angles using one degree steps. The farfields are calculated for a frequency sweep which adds little additional simulation time to the calculation.
Post Processing
The results of the asymptotic solver are compared with the ones obtained by running the integral equation solver. The agreement of the results can be further improved by refining the mesh for the integral equation solver and increasing the number of rays for the asymptotic solver.
