Special Electrostatic Solver Settings

Simulation: SolverStart SimulationSpecials

Maximum iterations

The number of iterations performed by the linear solver is automatically limited by a number depending on the desired solver accuracy. If you would like to prescribe a fixed upper limit for number of linear iterations, deactivate the "Automatic" checkbox and enter a positive number in the edit field.

PECs without sources

Grounded: All PEC domains to which no source is assigned and electric boundary conditions are considered like fixed potentials with value 0. (default)

Floating: All PEC domains to which no source is assigned and electric boundary conditions are considered like floating potentials.

Open boundary

Charge Free: The potential at infinity is floating and charge free. For configurations with multiple conductors including the ground this is probably the correct choice.

Fixed: The potential value at infinity is fixed and can be chosen in the edit field below. Use this option if the ground conductor is not included in the simulation domain.

OK

Accepts the changes and closes the dialog box.

Cancel
