Open
Opens the selected GDSII file, leads you select certain materials you want to import, adds its data to your model and leaves the dialog box.
Cancel
Closes this dialog box without performing any further action.
Copy file to project
Use this option to copy the import file to the project folder. If you save your project to another destination the imported file is copied automatically. For more information see Copy_file_to_project.
Scale to current unit
Enables scaling of the imported model to the currently active unit. As the units of the import model are not defined in the import file you have to specify the units of the import model in the 'Import file units' drop down list. If not activated no scaling occurs.
Import file units
In the drop down list you can specify the units of the import model. These controls are only active when the option 'Scale to current unit' is checked.
Model tolerance
Merges vertices which are inside of the defined tolerance.
After you pressed this button, a dialog appears where you can specify further import option. The dialog Import Options contains the following options:
General options
Add all shapes on layer: Use this option to create one single shape for each layer. Control via the 'Preserving holes' check box whether the holes should be closed or preserved.
Preserving holes: Enabled when the option 'Add all shapes on layer' is activated. When checked the holes are preserved.
Close open shapes: Profiles which have a different start and end point are automatically closed, if this option is used.
Import as curves only: Use this option to import only the outline of the model as curves.
Heal self intersections: Automatically repairs self intersecting profiles. Use this option only when there are actually self intersections. Without this option set the import is much faster.
Polygon simplification
Simplification: Check this box if you want to activate the polygon simplification. For more information see polygon simplification.
Arc resolution (degrees): Specifies the maximum angle in degrees between two adjacent segments.
Radius tolerance (percent): Specifies the maximum deviation in percent the distance a segment end point can have to the current definition of the circle center point.
Minimum edge length: Edges smaller than the defined length will be removed.
