From within this dialog you can import NASTRAN files.
The import supports the following data structures of NASTRAN files: GRID, CHEXA, CQUAD4, CTETRA, CPENTA, CBAR, CROD, CBEAM, CTRIA3, PBAR, PROD, PBEAM, PSHELL, PSOLID, MAT1.
Open
Opens the selected NASTRAN file, adds the structure to your model and leaves the dialog box.
Cancel
Closes this dialog box without performing any further action.
Copy file to project
Use this option to copy the import file to the project folder. If you save your project to another destination the imported file is copied automatically. For more information see Copy_file_to_project.
Import attributes
Enables the import of solid names, wire names, material names and material color from the import file.
Note: Importing the attributes usually needs more memory.
Scale to current unit
Enables scaling of the imported model to the currently active unit. As the units of the import model are not defined in the import file you have to specify the units of the import model in the 'Import file units' drop down list. If not activated no scaling occurs.
Import file units
In the drop down list you can specify the units of the import model. These controls are only active when the option 'Scale to current unit' is checked.
Import options
Read points only: Check this box if you only want to read the points of the NASTRAN file. The points will be written in a textfile added to the navigation tree.
Read triangle info only: Check this box if you only want to read the triangle info of the NASTRAN file. The normal vector and the center coordinates of each triangle will be written in a textfile added to the navigation tree.
Always create wires: Use this option to import the curves of the model as wires.
Solid wire model: This box is activated if the 'Always create wires' box has been checked. Use this option to import the wires as solid wires.
Decimation: Check this box if you want to activate the triangle decimation.
Properties...: This button will be activated if the decimation box has been checked. After you press this button, the settings dialog for Triangle Decimation will appear and you can change the default triangle decimation settings.
