Cover Curve to Face

Modeling: ShapesFaces and AperturesConstruction FacesCover Curve to Face

In this dialog box you can cover a previously selected planar curve with a sheet in order to create a face from this curve.
Please note:
The created face is not considered in the simulation, but can be used to create other structures and to integrate fields on the face's surface.

After selecting the corresponding ribbon control an interactive mode will be entered in which a curve needs to be selected. This curve will then be used for the creation of the new face.

As soon as the new face is created it will appear in the main plot window and on the navigation tree.

The picture below shows the face created by covering a rectangle:

Name

Specify the unique name for the face.

Curve

This field shows the name of the currently selected curve. This field is for your information only and can not be edited.

OK

Press this button to finally create the face.

Preview

Press this button to create a preview image of the face. This option is very useful to check the settings before you actually create the face.

Cancel

Closes this dialog box without performing any further action.

Help

Shows this help text.
