Functions

A variety of functions are available to operate on real and complex arguments. The arguments are indicated in parentheses and are separated by commas. The arguments are specified by r for a real argument and z for a complex argument. The return type is indicated by the first word of the description. If the return type depends on the argument, then it is listed as Argument.

Real, Magnitude

 

Real(z), Imag(z)

Real, Real component, Imaginary component

 

Ang(z), Ang_Rad(z)

Real, Angle in degrees, radians

Log

dB(r)

Real, Converts the quantity to dB based on the unit. If the argument is V, S, etc., then 20*Log10(r) is used. If the argument is a power unit such as NF, then 10*Log10(r) is used. If the unit of the argument is not known, 20*Log10(r) is used.

 

dBm(r)

Real, 10*Log10(1000*r), Logarithm of ratio of power to 1 mWatt

 

dBW(r)

Real, 10*Log10(r), Logarithm of ratio of power to 1 Watt

 

Exp(r)

Real, Exponential

 

Ln(r), Log10(r)

Real, Logarithm Base e, 10

Trig

Cos(r), sin(r), tan(r)

Real, Trigonometric functions

 

Acos(r), asin(r), atan(r)

Real, Inverse trigonometric functions

 

Cosh(r), sinh(r), tanh(r)

Real, Bessel functions of 0th and 1st order

Real, Absolute value

 

Sqrt(r)

Real, Square root

 

Sgn(r)

Real, Signum (-1 for r<0, 0 for r=0, 1 for r>0)

 

Sgn(r1,r2)

Real, (abs(r1) for r2>=0, -abs(r1) for r2<0)

 

Rem(r,r)

Real, Remainder

 

Int(r)

Real, truncated integer value
