Designer Links

Designer Links is a framework that allows for closer integration between Layout and external data sources. It permits Designer to host source-specific translation features and allows for plug-ins that behave as “quasi-native” primitives, but can also use external data semantics.

 

Ensure APDLinks is activated by doing the following:

1. Select Tools > Designer Links

2. Click the Config tab

3. Click Add Link and then select <installdir>/apdlinks.dll

Activation of a Link is only required once. On subsequent Designer sessions, the link will be available and the enabled state will be remembered.

Once a link is loaded, it will be listed in the Available Links. Each link can publish a series of actions. The Cadence APD/Allegro Link provides actions for import, server configuration, option setup, and bondwire management
