Inductors, Coupled (K)

 

Coupled Inductors Netlist Form

Kxxxx Lyyyy Lzzzz [[K=]val]

Lyyyy and Lzzzz are inductors defined elsewhere in the netlist. The K= entry specifies the coefficient of mutual coupling, default 0.99. K must be in the range {-1 £ K £ 1}.

Coupled Inductors Netlist Example

L10 1 2 L=1MH

L22 3 4 L=3MH

K23 L10 L22 K=0.95

Notes

1. If the netlist specifies a coefficient of mutual inductance less than -1, the value will be changed internally to -1.0 (with a warning message).

2. If the netlist specifies a coefficient of mutual inductance equal to 0, the value will be changed internally to 1e-10 (with a warning message).

3. If the netlist specifies a coefficient of mutual inductance greater than +1, the value will be changed internally to +1.0 (with a warning message).

4. If the netlist specifies one mutual inductor joining inductors L1 and L2, and a second mutual inductor joining L2 and L3, the netlist must also have a third mutual inductor joining L1 and L3. If one of the mutual inductors is missing, the simulator will provide the missing one (with a warning message). However, the value of K for the supplied mutual inductor is probably not correct for the circuit.
