Nexxim Simulator > Adding Existing C CodeFollow this procedure to add a existing C code modules as a component model that can be instantiated in a Nexxim schematic. 1. Using a text editor, create a Model Project File that lists the C code modules to be added. See C Model Project Files for information on the Model Project File format. The Model Project File has a .dcp extension. 2. Open a new Circuit Design. Expand the Definitions folder, right-click on the Models folder, and select Edit Library. 3. The Edit Libraries dialog opens. Click Add Model. 4. The Add Model dialog opens. Enter a name for your model, and select C Model as the Model type. Click OK. 5. The C Model dialog opens: The Model Name appears as you entered in the previous dialog. Use the Pins and Parameters fields to enter the names of the pins and parameters as they appear in the C model code. Enter the name and path to the Model Project (.dcp) file. If desired, use the browse button (...) to locate the .dcp file from a File Open dialog. Click Save and Edit Code. 6. The Model List File and the C code module files are displayed in the design area: Initially, the Model List file is blank: Fill in the file with the names of the code modules: Under C Model Editor in the top menu bar, click Save model_list_filename. 7. Complete the C code, and select Build in the C Model Editor menu. If you have Visual C installed, the DLL will be built. 8. The new model is listed in the Models folder 9. Right-click on the new model icon, and select Place New Component from the menu. 10. The Create New Component dialog opens: Click Create New to create another new model, or click Edit to edit this model before creating any components. Click OK to add the new component and close the Create Model Component dialog. The new component is added to the Components list in the project tree: Select and place this component as you would any Nexxim component. Enter values for the parameters.
