The Component Netlist String Property

The Component Netlist String Property

When an analysis is requested for a modified design, or when Browse Netlist is invoked, Designer writes a text-based netlist to the project results folder that conveys to the simulation engine the connectivity, parameter values, analysis specifications, and other characteristics of the design(s) under analysis. To support this process, every Designer component must include a valid definition for the following properties:

• SystemNetList — If the component will be used for System simulation.

• NexximNetlist — If the component will be used for Nexxim simulation.

To view the SystemNetlist or NexximNetlist definitions for a component:

• Open its Properties dialog.

• Select the Parameter Values tab.

• Click the Shown Hidden box.

• Click the Value button for SystemNetList or NexximNetlist, as appropriate.

The Edit Netlist String dialog box opens, displaying the netlist string. Use the dialog box to edit the string if desired.
