Padstack Definition Translations

The tables below describe the following padstack definition translations:

• Translations from pre-Designer 5.0 to Designer 5.0

• Translations from Designer 5.0 to ANFV4

Translations from pre-Designer 5.0 to Designer 5.0

Pads and Clearances Translation

Connected Normal pad	1st pad specified	Pad
Connected Normal clearance	Pad clearance	Anti pad
Connected Thermal	Thermal	Thermal pad
Not Connected Normal pad and clearance	Nonconnect and pad clearance	If no Pad or Anti pad for layer yet, becomes the Pad and Anti pad. Otherwise becomes the Pad and Anti pad on a newly created layer.
Not Connected Thermal pad and clearance	ThermalNonconnect and pad clearance	If no Pad or Anti pad for layer yet, becomes the Pad and Anti pad. Otherwise becomes the Pad and Anti pad on a newly created layer.

Hole Clearance Translation

1. If there is no Pad or Anti pad on a layer, the hole clearance is used to create an Anti pad on the layer.

2. If there is no “Default” layer defined for the padstack definition, the layer “Default” is added and the hole clearance is used to create an Anti pad on the layer.
