Importing Files with Multiple Layers

When importing a file with multiple layers, the conductors on different layers may overlap. When metals from different layers overlap, the metal with higher conductivity takes precedence. When conductivities are equal, the layer that is physically superior will appear above the other layer in the stackup. In addition, overlapping layers that possess equal conductivities must be of equal thickness.

The areas covered by overlapping metal are removed from the mesh for that layer, and meshes from different layers contain common points on all shared perimeters.

1. Use the file browser to find the directory where you want to save the file.

2. Type the name of the file in the File name box.

3. Select one of the following file formats from the Save as type pull-down list:

.txt

Post processor format file

.csv

Comma-delimited data file

.tab

Tab-separated file

.dat

Ansoft plot data file

4. Click Save. The file is exported to the specified location as a data table file.
