Library Editors

A component is a design element that provides a predefined set of electrical and physical characteristics. In Designer, components are organized into libraries, and subcircuits automatically inherit higher-level library configurations. The Nexxim and System simulators are shipped with extensive component libraries (“system” libraries). In addition, you can define new components for use in your designs. Designer provides a suite of editors for creating and maintaining libraries of components.

• The Library editor is used to create a new library, and to configure libraries for inclusion into the current project.

• The Component editor defines the characteristics of a component to be added or modified.

• The Material editor specifies a material to be used in manufacturing the component.

• The Symbol editor defines a schematic symbol to be used for the component.

• The Footprint editor defines a layout symbol to be used for the component.

• The Padstack editor defines a vertical sequence of materials (or stackup) to be used in manufacturing the component.
